Fr. Danny Isidro, SJ (1950–2024) joined the Society of Jesus in May 1973 and was ordained to the priesthood in March 1982. A gifted lyricist, he played a significant role in shaping Jesuit and Filipino liturgical music. Among his beloved works are Halina, Lumapit sa Akin; Sa Diyos Lamang Mapapanatag, in collaboration with Fr. Nemy Que, SJ; Panginoon, Narito Ako; and Purihin ang Panginoon, for which he set music to the lyrics of Fr. Fruto Ramirez, SJ.

Fr. Danny’s songs brought countless people closer to God and enriched the prayer life of many. Though he has returned to the Father, his legacy continues through the songs we sing in our churches and communities. We give thanks for his life, his ministry, and his enduring gift of music.
