Every pilgrimage needs a guide—not just for the journey across sacred landscapes, but for the inner journey of the soul.

As JesCom’s upcoming “The Word Exposed” pilgrimage draws near, pilgrims can look forward to walking alongside two beloved spiritual leaders: Fr. Jboy Gonzales, SJ, and Fr. Fiel Pareja.

Together, they will serve as co-chaplains for the 13-day pilgrimage across Italy this October, offering daily Masses, reflections, and heartfelt companionship as pilgrims seek deeper meaning in Rome, Assisi, Loreto, and beyond.

A Shepherd with a Song: Fr. Jboy Gonzales, SJ

Lead chaplain Fr. Jboy Gonzales, SJ is known for his pastoral energy, creative spirit, and deep commitment to youth formation. A Jesuit since 1989 and ordained in 2001, he has shaped countless lives as a teacher and formator, currently serving in Ateneo de Davao University as Director of the Ignatian Spirituality and Formation Office (ISFO). As a musician, Fr. Jboy composed Panunumpa, the iconic liturgical song made famous in the 2000 film Tanging Yaman. The song is now a staple in weddings and religious ceremonies.

A former Director of the Jesuit Music Ministry and a longtime host of JesCom’s beloved Kape’t Pandasal program, Fr. Jboy blends music, media, and mission in his ministry. Whether onstage, in the classroom, or walking with pilgrims, he is known for his warmth, wisdom, and capacity to make spiritual truths resonate in everyday life.

A Digital Disciple: Fr. Fiel Pareja

Joining him is Fr. Fiel Pareja, a young priest from the Archdiocese of San Fernando who brings fresh eyes and a bold heart to the mission. Ordained in early 2020, just before the pandemic lockdowns, Fr. Fiel pivoted quickly by using social media to bring liturgical lessons and pastoral care to his now 3.6 million TikTok followers and 2.2 million on Facebook.

His creative, faith-filled videos, which range from vestment color catechism to daily reflections, have made him one of the most recognized digital evangelizers in the Philippines. What began as a simple attempt to stay connected has grown into a vibrant ministry of presence and inspiration, especially for younger Catholics.

Now, Fr. Fiel brings that same authenticity and approachability to this pilgrimage, ensuring that every pilgrim—no matter their age or background—feels seen, heard, and spiritually nourished.

Journeying as a Community

JesCom’s commitment to pastoral care means that this pilgrimage is more than a well-curated itinerary. It’s a shared spiritual experience guided by compassionate leaders who both walk the talk—and walk with you.

With Fr. Jboy and Fr. Fiel at your side, every Mass becomes more meaningful, every sacred stop more personal, and every reflection more profound.

Walk with us. Be guided by grace.
