Inspired by his evocative arrangements for Radyo Katipunan 87.9 FM’s “Keep the Faith: Daily Mass with the Jesuits,” these special edition cards feature ten unique images drawn from Fr. Jason’s ongoing “Arrange/Enliven” series. More than simple decorations, each piece reflects a spiritual practice rooted in the Sogetsu school of Japanese Ikebana, where form, space, and nature come together to express life’s fragile yet sacred rhythms.
At the height of the pandemic, when many sought refuge in online liturgies, Fr. Jason’s floral arrangements became an unexpected source of comfort. Crafted from everyday materials, such as fallen branches, dried leaves, and wildflowers, these altar pieces mirrored the raw, unfiltered prayers of a community learning to hope again. Fr. Jason’s art, shaped by the liturgical calendar, Philippine social realities, and the contemplative aesthetics of still-life paintings, offered more than visual beauty by creating sacred spaces.
