Last March 19, 2025, the Feast of St. Joseph, Radyo Katipunan 87.9 FM commemorated the fifth anniversary of its most beloved program, Keep the Faith: Daily Mass with the Jesuits. From its humble beginnings as a response to the spiritual crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, Keep the Faith has grown into a thriving community, composed of regular attendees and volunteers, that continues to nourish the faith of Filipino Catholics both here and abroad.

A Beacon of Hope in Difficult Times
Launched on March 19, 2020, amid Metro Manila’s strict lockdown, Keep the Faith was Radyo Katipunan’s answer to the uncertainty and isolation brought by the pandemic. Originally titled Keeping the Faith: Daily Mass for Difficult Times, the program provided much-needed spiritual solace to those unable to attend Mass in person. Led by JesCom Executive Director Fr. Emmanuel “Nono Alfonso, SJ, with a creative set design by Fr. Jason Dy, SJ, the daily Mass quickly gained a devoted following.
Beyond its regular Eucharistic celebrations, Keep the Faith also became a platform for Lenten retreats, Visita Iglesia, and other special liturgical events, reinforcing JesCom’s mission of media evangelization. The program reached not just local audiences but also overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), particularly those in the Middle East, who otherwise lacked access to the sacraments.
“Even the OFWs we meet while on travel greatly appreciate the online Masses,” shared a longtime viewer who works at the U.S. Embassy. “Since March 2020, they have been obtaining blessings and strength from this.”
A Growing Community of Faith
In 2023, JesCom unveiled the Keep the Faith Chapel Studio—a dedicated space made possible through the generosity of donors and benefactors. This permanent home for the daily Mass solidified the program’s role in the JesCom ministry, allowing it to continue long after the pandemic.
As Keep the Faith enters its fifth year, its mission remains unwavering. The program continues to be a wellspring of hope, with each Mass fostering deeper faith and community among its virtual attendees. “I failed to mention earlier, we can always revisit the readings and homilies when we miss something or don’t fully understand,” the same avid viewer added. “It’s truly a great blessing.”
A Stronger Future with Radyo Katipunan
Keep the Faith’s 2025 milestone coincides with a renewed partnership between Radyo Katipunan and Ateneo de Manila University. Under a recently signed Memorandum of Agreement, the university will further integrate its mission with Radyo Katipunan, exploring new content collaborations while strengthening existing programs. The continued partnership ensures that Keep the Faith and other initiatives remain accessible to a broader audience, both online and on-air.
As Radyo Katipunan celebrates this five-year journey of faith, gratitude fills the hearts of its production team headed by station coordinator Justin Pontino, Jesuit fathers, and grateful supporters. “Your unwavering faith and generosity continue to sustain this mission of bringing God’s Word to more people every day,” JesCom expressed in its anniversary message via its official Facebook page. “May we keep the faith alive and growing together!”
