Sacred Heart School — Ateneo de Cebu was buzzing with excitement as Jesuit Communications (JesCom) kicked off its Campus Tour for 2024, marking its first visit to the Visayas last February 1–3, 2024. The three-day event, which was part of the school’s Magis Fest 2024, brought together students and faculty for three days of fun-filled activities and inspiring moments.

The JesCom team, composed of Jojo Armenta, Rose De La Vina, Rey Malipot, and Roma Escaner, spearheaded the event, hosting a variety of activities aimed at engaging and inspiring Cebuano students. From organizing fun gimmicks and games to karaoke sessions, distributing freebies and exclusive merchandise, to welcoming surprise guests, the JesCom Fair offered an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

Throughout the three-day event held at the Mandaue-based Jesuit institution’s Lux Oriens Gym, students had the opportunity to explore the various units of JesCom, including the Jesuit Music Ministry (JMM), Radyo Katipunan 87.9 FM, JesCom Films, JesCom Online Shop (JOSH), and Store. The fair served as a platform to introduce JesCom’s mission and ministry of media evangelization to the Ateneo de Cebu community, sparking passion, creativity, and a newfound connection among participants.

The opening day on February 1 set the tone for the event, with students enjoying a full day of engaging activities and gimmicks at the JesCom booth. The highlight of the afternoon was a free photobooth session that allowed them to capture memorable moments with friends and classmates.

Day 2, which fell on February 2, was packed with excitement and entertainment. The day began with a Fashion Show showcasing the trendy ‘JesCom Tag’ t-shirt line, decorated with inspiring lyrics from classic Jesuit Music Ministry (JMM) songs. The afternoon saw the duo of Rey and Roma host a ‘JOSH Live’ session, featuring live performances and open mic sessions that brought together students and faculty in a celebration of music and talent.

The festivities continued on the closing day, February 3, with more fun activities at the JesCom booth. Students relished the opportunity to engage with the various offerings and experience the vibrant spirit of JesCom.

With the success of the Campus Tour’s first edition for 2024, JesCom expresses its gratitude to Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu for the warm welcome and the opportunity to inspire its students through its ministry of media evangelization.

As the media arm of the Society of Jesus’ Philippine Province looks ahead, it aims to bring the JesCom Fair to more campuses across the country, spreading inspiration and joy to students nationwide—fueled by the same spirit of community, passion, and creativity.
