In the spirit of goodwill and generosity, Jesuit Communications (JesCom) and Radyo Katipunan 87.9 FM once again brought Christmas cheer to several communities, in the third year of its Pamaskong Handogsocial outreach program

Entitled “From Keeping to Sharing the Faith”, staff from the media arm of the Jesuit Philippine Province and the Ateneo de Manila campus radio station delivered 450 food packages to selected beneficiaries across Metro Manila, enabling hundreds of families to celebrate their Noche Buena

Intramuros pedicab drivers and cocheros, Missionaries of Charity brothers, the St. Joseph Chapel community of Payatas, Holy Cross Parish Church community of Brgy.Krus na Ligas, Novaliches fire victims and Ateneo de Manila security guards, all received their Christmas food packages thanks to generous contributions from JesCom’s benefactors and donations to Radyo Katipunan’s widely successful ‘Keep the Faith’ daily mass.

This year’s biggest beneficiary was Caritas Novaliches’ Social Action Ministry, who was able to distribute the food packages to three parishes under the Diocese of Novaliches.

“Despite considerably more conversative numbers this year in terms of beneficiaries, we were still amazed at the outpouring of support for our Pamaskong Handog,” expressed Radyo Katipunan station coordinator Justin Pontino.

“Maraming salamat po sa ‘di pagbitaw sa pagtulong. Help us continue this tradition of giving in the years to come.”

Throughout the Christmas season and beyond, JesCom and Radyo Katipunan’s commitment to greater service and calling to be media organizations truly with and for others, is very much here to stay.
