JMM presents “Ave Maria: A Choral Festival for Our Lady” this October

As we celebrate the month of the Holy Rosary, join the Jesuit Music Ministry (JMM) in honoring Mother Mary through song in “Ave Maria: A Choral Festival for Our Lady”, this October 30, Saturday at 8 pm.

To be aired live on the Jesuit Communications (JesCom) and Radyo Katipunan 87.9 FM social media pages, alongside other media partners, the online Marian concert features 16 of JMM’s beloved artists and friends.

Among the notable acts headlining the chorale festival are the Ateneo Chamber Singers, Bukas Palad Music Ministry, Hangad, Philippine Madrigal Singers, Manila Chamber Singers, Koro Ilustrado, and the Young Voices of the Philippines. Also joining the impressive cast of performers are Cantus, Kilyawan Consortium of Voices, Disciples Choir, Lighter Side Movement, Loboc Children’s Choir, Mater Dei Music Ministry, Solemne, SJ Tañong Chorale, and VC6 Philippines.

According to JMM Director Lester Mendiola, ‘Ave Maria’ reflects the long-cherished Jesuit tradition of Marian devotion, especially seen in the wearing of the October Medal, and also pays homage to the Philippines’ revered Patroness.

“We’d like to remind our audiences that we can lean on Mary, our ‘Inay’ especially during this time of the pandemic when everything seems uncertain. We can lean on prayer and we can ask for our Inay’s intercession,” expressed Mendiola about the heavenly mother our kababayans can seek and find consolation in during these trying times.
