Find renewed hope and faith in these trying times, as we relive Jesuit Music Ministry’s (JMM) most beloved concerts in the JMM Inspirational Music Festival.
For three consecutive Saturdays this August, pray, sing and reflect with your favorite JMM artists, as the JesCom, JMM and Radyo Katipunan 87.9 FM official Facebook pages stream their uplifting performances every 7pm.
Beginning this Saturday evening (August 14, 7pm), the festival opens with “Holy Darkness: The Ignatian Spirit in the time of COVID 19”. Staged July 31st of last year, the grand musical production marked the fitting conclusion to “One Foot Raised”, the month-long Ateneo de Manila 2020 Ignatian Festival.
Bringing to life the different stages of St. Ignatius’ spiritual conversion, through the power of song, are the Ateneo Boys Choir, Ateneo Chamber Singers, Ateneo de Naga University Choir, Bukas Palad Music Ministry, Hangad, Himig Heswita, Koro Ilustrado, Musica Chiesa, Pansol Choir, Tinig Barangka, and VC6 Philippines.
Experience touching meditations, loving hymns and heartfelt devotions, in “Inay: Mga Awit at Panalangin kay Maria” (August 21, 7pm). Himig Heswita, SJ Tañong Chorale, Koro Ilustrado and Awit-awards nominee Arman Ferrer headline the musical tribute to the Blessed Mother, held last October 24 at the Church of the Gesu.
Fr. Jett Villarin SJ, guides audiences in praying the Joyful Mysteries, while Fr. Nono Alfonso, SJ, Fr. Kali Llamado, Fr. Eli Lumbo, SJ and Fatima Soriano, share their heartwarming reflections.
Completing the festival is “Loving and Forgiving” (August 28, 7pm), a Lenten concert aired last March 28, Palm Sunday. Bringing the spirit of Holy Week into the hearts and homes of the Filipino Catholic faithful, is Himig Heswita, bannered by Fr. Ro Atilano SJ, Jaclay Schalliven SJ, Daven Manubag SJ,
Fr. Nemy Que SJ and Fr. Junjun Borres SJ.
Meanwhile, leading viewers in prayer are JesCom Executive Director Fr. Nono Alfonso SJ, Jeffrey Pocong SJ, and Bok Arandia SJ.
As JMM stands united with the Filipino Catholic faithful through prayer, let our soulful music be your strength in these challenging moments.
