Jesuit Music Ministry (JMM) brings its soulful, uplifting music to the Pinoy Playlist 2019 Festival stage, beginning this Friday, October 11 at the BGC Arts Center, Taguig.
Acclaimed chorales, Ateneo Chamber Singers and Hangad Music Ministry join over 100 OPM acts in the 6-day celebration of Filipino music, spread out over two consecutive weekends (October 11, 12, 13 and 18, 19, 20, 2019).
Champions of the Sacred Music A Capella and Chamber Choirs of Mixed Voices categories at last year’s 7th Canta al mar – Festival Coral Internacional in Calella, Spain, the Ateneo Chamber Singers round out the evening of Day 3 (Sunday, October 13) with their performance slated for 9pm at the Zobel de Ayala Recital Hall.
Nominated for Best Christmas Recording with their song “Magalak Sa Kapanganakan” at the 32nd Awit Awards, Hangad Music Minsitry, raises the curtain for the afternoon of Day 6 (Sunday, October 20) at 5pm, also at the Zobel de Ayala Recital Hall.
Following the theme “Ito ay Atin, Sariling Atin”, the second-staging of the Pinoy Playist Music Festival (PPMF) continues to bridge genres and generations of proudly Philippine-made music to today’s audiences.
Co-curated by Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Ryan Cayabyab, Moy Ortiz and talent manager/Ateneo’s Radyo Katipunan 87.9 FM program host Noel Ferrer, Pinoy Playist Music Festival aims to continue its mission of raising consciousness for OPM as a vital tradition that binds the Filipino community worldwide.
Prior to the start of the festival, the distinguished trio of curators will share their time, wisdom and talents with Taguig’s public school children through PPMF-X, an immersive music education workshop.
